Rain in L.A.

It doesn’t rain much in Los Angeles but when it does, the result is a great panic.
Traffic is even worse than usual, the city ends up looking like a big lake due to a bad drainage system, and mudslides are winter’s answer to summer’s fires.
The local news stations send out their “storm watch” teams to cover live how the brave LA natives are handling the drizzle.
And they do handle it pretty well;
armed with winter gear and umbrellas they abandon the streets to find cover in the malls and coffee shops.

However, I would be just as happy if you would be kind enough to just rate this image:
Excellent - Very good - Good - You can do better - Burn it!

I really like the tones and contrast. It is such a simple idea, but because of the rain it looks really great. And the clouds helped you a lot. Good photo.

The picture almost doesn't look real. Looks like a drawing.

Excellent photo!

Excellent - The contrast is perfect.

your right about the rain in LA, and its the same in San Francisco. A light sprinkle will bring traffic to a stop. I don't want to even imagine what would happen if it snowed here.

This is soo cool Nitsa, it definitely looks like apencil drawing to me. Those clouds look incredible.

It seems to me we saw a similar picture of a rainy Westwood street some time ago... didn't we? Well, I like this one better. I like the dark clouds, the empty street and sidewalks, and most of all the almost unreal looking building in the distance. What time of day did you take it? I never see Westwood so empty!

Your my idol, great shot

great shot!

Great shot! Please try some B/W infrared, I think you'll love it.

Excellent. Simple beauty!
See, this shot still has a mark of yours on it, however this also stands strongly on the grounds of documentary as well. (Remember our talk about documentary a few weeks back?)

Love the fact that you managed to capture the street more or less with no cars. (the ones further down doesn't count, as they don't cover off interesting sights.)

Wow what a scene. Excellent contrasts and well backed up with that description.

What a fantastic shot. :) I don't think I've ever seen Westwood that empty!

Excellent =) A simply gorgeous shot!

you're a brave girl mate :)
neat shot!

Hello. I was wondering what kind of film, paper, camera, and post processing did you use? Something about the above pic seems digital... Am I right? Im actually taking classes at SMC LA,CA. Close to home.

Good - The foreground and middlegrounds are great, but i'm a little unsettled by the movie theater spire in the back. With the heavy contrast throughout the composition the lack of the contrast in the center weakens the picture for me.

Great perspective. I like the reflection on the water.
