I suppose I became more attached to this photo after it had been taken off the wall (Ok, stolen) at Stir Crazy where I was having my photo show… I only hope it has a good home now :)
Well even the Scream by Edvard Munch was stolen, so I would be angry if someone stole one of my photos, but in the same time quite proud. And in any case your shots are often 'stolen' snaps of everyday life ... so we can say there is a balance in everything...
Dear Nitsa,
I just saw your complete photoblog.
The pictures are often unsharp/blurry, have extreme contrast, are very dark or very light, sometimes a little bit confusing, but they are ALLWAYS BRILLIANT!!!...
I totally love your work!
Greetings from Belgium,
Kris
Hi Nitsa, I am sorry that your print was stolen, but take it as a very flattering compliment: the photo really struck a cord with the person that stole it! And indeed the photo is excellent, one of your bests. In a way it embodies your very personal touch: it is off center, too dark and contrasted, even slanted toward the right. But boy, IT WORKS. How many stories converge on this photogram? Her leg tells about a party ended in haste, she is been escorted away, while the shadow man on the right is evaluating the next move. Hard boiled drama.
As Steve Jobs is wont to plagiarize Pablo Picasso who oft times said, 'Good artists copy, great artist steal'.
I dunno how this fits exactly into someone having the audacity to lift a Nitsa original, but there's a moral in there somewhere.

Wow, that's crazy. In some wild way, also flattering. But damn... crazy!
