I suppose I became more attached to this photo after it had been taken off the wall (Ok, stolen) at Stir Crazy where I was having my photo show…
I only hope it has a good home now :)

This is one of these pictures I took purposely avoiding any further details about the activity.   I didn’t ask any questions.  I made a couple of exposures and fled the scene.
(Unfortunately a couple of weeks later I talked to someone who- by the way- knew exactly what was going on there and had to tell me all about it…)

Often when I photograph these special relationships between humans and their environment I find myself drawn mainly to the settings, at least at first thought.

Against the sun

I didn’t like to have my picture taken when I was little. My dad, who probably meant well, would position me right there beside the lovely flowers and against the sun.  And while he was fiddling with the camera I was doing my best to keep my teary eyes open.

No wonder I’m squinting in most of these pictures and looking plain miserable in the rest of them. So basically the only happy childhood pictures I have where taken indoors.

Luckily the order of the universe had change since then and photographing against the sun is not such an illegal activity anymore
