Very nice composition. I think I might prefer color on this one though, or maybe if B&W then in sharp focus.

No - I think this shot is made for B&W. Such strong contrast. The loose focus gives it a great sense of movement.

Definitely in black and white and the out of focus doesn't harm the photo. You still "get the picture" A good composition, the right moment and minimalistic (which is great).
