Seems a little empty to me, Nitsa. I like that subdued color effect that you often use, but this one didn't grab me like some others. Hmmmm.... why not? Maybe if there were a few more people in it? Or maybe if the people were not so spread out as they are? I actually thought it might have been a better result if you had cropped it into two pictures, with a vertical cut right about down the lamp post.
This picture is another reminder how Nitsa takes an ordinary moment and promotes it to an extraordinary memorable "painting".
jerry dude lighten up! This is street photography not a floor plan ;)
Wade, he's got a right to not love the picture. I think he's wrong, but I can see what he's saying. However, cropping the picture as he suggests would kill it -- nothing would be going on in the right half, and the person running across the street would be running into nothing.
I, for one, am glad Nitsa took the shot, and not Jerry. :P
The discussion is a great way to show how tough true street photography is. I think the composition is great, but getting the perfect moment that grabs everyone's attention and holds it, even after the viewer stop actually looking at the photo, is the tough part. I do like this picture, but I've loved others of yours. Keep it up!
