bricks

I get lots of emails from people who tell me they feel uncomfortable photographing strangers on the streets. This is probably the number one obstacle in street photography.  At least, for most people.

Me, on the other hand, I’m just the opposite; I have quite a hard time shooting scenes without people in them.

This picture is obviously one without any people walking by or engaged in their daily routines; however, when taking it I sensed the strong human presence beyond these cold bricks.

sunny

Finally; after gloomy days, flooding and mudslides the sun made an enchanting comeback to Southern California.

Unfocused

Every now and then when you forget to focus you can safely declare it was deliberate.

Walk the talk

As mentioned before, street photography is done on the move, meaning it constantly demands adjusting and keeping up with the energy of the streets.

At times I take this concept literally and so I shoot as I’m walking :)
